Art
Barry Primary school aims to give children an exciting and varied experience of art. Using a range of materials alongside exciting stimuli, the children enjoy creating skilful and diverse work.
Children are encouraged to experiment with a range of materials and sources of inspiration to develop their own style.
We develop children’s skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, and use of textiles, mixed media and 3D materials such as clay through a range of work mainly linked with an area they are exploring within other subjects. Interactive activities and research uses ICT skills.
We enjoy an annual whole school Arts Week at Barry where each year group creates art, dances and music inspired by a whole school theme.

Reception children's Cubism display created as part of the annual school's Arts Week at Barry Primary School.

We use sketch-books from Year 1 onwards to plan, develop and practice ideas or collate materials.
Artwork created at Barry is imaginative, colourful, creative and experimental. We take pride in the presentation of our work and encourage children to share their skills and passion for creating.
