Our Vision:

Our vision is for Barry Primary to be an excellent school. We not only strive for high academic achievements for children, but have the ambition for everyone to achieve their fullest potential in a far broader sense, celebrating creativity, individuality, integrity and diversity. We promote in our school the fundamental British Values: democracy; individual liberty; the rule of law; mutual respect; tolerance of those with different faiths and belief. This is done through our assemblies, our PSHE, SMSC and RE curriculum, our school council and our wider modelling of these values through expectations of behaviour from all at Barry Primary.

Our Mission Statement:

We aim to:-

  • Put children at the heart of everything we do.
  • Create an exciting, inspiring and nurturing environment for our children to enjoy and feel safe.
  • Be uncompromising in our aspirations for our children by creating strong foundations for future success and a love of life-long learning.
  • Have a strong reputation for success in the academic curriculum as well as valuing the creative curriculum to enrich children’s broader education.
  • Be recognised as a school that values the importance of ‘togetherness’ and diversity as well as being respectful of individuality.

Our Logo:

Our school logo was designed with CARE at its heart. The initials of the school represent infinity – a link between the school’s rich, historic past and the future. This continuity forms an important part of what our school community values. Diversity and togetherness are also an integral part of our school life and ethos. It is what forms the core of our care and supports the growth of every member of our school. The children of the school council helped create the school logo, selecting designs that represented both the values and the vision for Barry Primary. When the design of the heart, lettering and hands were created, it was the children’s idea to form the tree to represent growth and the golden shield to represent strength. The children are very proud of their school logo; it captures visually the heart of what Barry Primary means to everyone who belongs to our wonderful school.
