This term in Year 6 ...


This term the children will be completing their work on fractions and then exploring position and direction.

In English, the children will be exploring two texts - Black Dog and The Rainbow Bear. They will be developing their extended writing and use new grammatical features.

In Science the children will be learning about electricity. They will represent circuits, explore scientific inventors and conduct investigations.


Our Homework

In year 6, children should:

  • practise their Maths targets.
  • practise their spellings.
  • read every day - record it at least 4 times a week.
  • complete any SATs revision tasks given.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with a member of the year 6 team should you need any support helping your child at home.

Additional support

Children could also:

  • practise their timestables and corresponding divisions.


  • complete reading comprehensions.


  • complete activities on our Barry Primary website.
