Year 3 - Euclid and Fibonacci

MATHS

Our next topic is perimeter and length. The children will be converting measures from mm to cm and cm to m. We will be measuring lots of objects of varying size.  You can have fun doing this at home, too! We will then be re-visiting fractions, but this time we will be finding equivalent fractions, adding and subtracting them.

We are sending home a Times Table Practise Booklet and some worksheets for the 3.4 and 8 times tables.

We will reviewing these throughout the next term!

Don't forget, your child can access TT Rockstars using a password they will be given shortly.

ENGLISH

We will be finding out about the amazing children’s author, Roald Dahl. At the end of our research, the children will produce a non-chronological report about him. This will be followed by a story writing unit based on ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.’

OTHER

As part of our Geography work, we will be learning about the cities, rivers and seas surrounding the UK. We will also learn about the physical and human features of London. For our PSHE topic, Year 3 will be understanding where money comes from and how to save it. In R.E. we will be learning how different people pray and worship. To end our term, the children will be visiting the Rennie Mackintosh House in Northampton. Please let us if you are willing to be volunteer to help us escort the children to and from the venue. Back at school, the children will be creating their own artwork based on the Rennie Mackintosh style.
